"Preserving Your Family Treasures"

with Katherine J. Rinehart, M.A.

Are your photos leeching color into their plastic sleeves? Are your scrapbook pages disintegrating into fine black dust--which is clinging to what was once invisible scotch tape? What about your precious papers and documents? Katherine Rinehart has answers for you! Learn the whys and wherefores of archivists and archiving. Learn to protect those treasures like a pro!!!

Katherine J. Rinehart received a MA in History from Sonoma State University in 1994. For the past 20 years, Ms. Rinehart has worked in various positions within the fields of Cultural Resource Management and Historic Preservation and is currently employed by the Sonoma County Library where she serves as the manager of the Sonoma County History and Genealogy Department. Katherine is a member of the Sonoma County Historical Records commission and a recent graduate of the Western Archives Institute. Ms. Rinehart is the author of Petaluma: A History in Architecture, a contributor to Celebrating Petaluma, published by the Petaluma Sesquicentennial Committee and the Petaluma Visitors Program, occasionaly writes for the Press Democrat and is proud to be a Petaluma Good Egg.

except for April when we hold our Spring Seminar. There is no General Meeting in December.

Society Board Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 9:30-11:30 AM, at the Sonoma County Library Annex.Board meetings are open to all members.

4th Thursday of the month at 10:00 am
at the Sonoma County History and Genealogy Annex,
located on Third Street, behind the Main Library at Third & E Sts in Santa Rosa.

"Writing Our Family Stories"

1st Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am
Writers Group meets at the Family History Center, located at 1725 Peterson Lane, Santa Rosa.

"Chat Group"

3rd Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am
Meets at various locations. Check our Facebook page or Contact Trisha Gilroy Bomar.

German Group:

1st Saturday of EVEN months at 10:00 am (except August).

British Group:

1st Thursday of EVEN months at 2:00 pm (except August) at the Santa Rosa Library Annex, 3rd & E Streets (next to the Main Library).
